in nature only one Oyster in ten thousand will produce a pearl. 
a piece of grit or other irritant will be coated with nacreus fluid, 
layer by layer.
 
this is a cultured pearl from an old necklace. I am guessing it is cultured. it might actually be a natural pearl. either way, a little creature made it.
 
every ring I make is cast individually and finished by hand.
